Installed @parks.canada Mt. Revelstoke National Park last week.
This is the first piece I have made that might have some environmental impact, as these are sculptural cones resembling those from the endangered White Bark Pine, and are part of the interpretive centre at the new camp ground—the first new camp ground at a Canadian national park in 40 years, I believe. Environmental education sessions will be scheduled for the campers shedding light on the local ecology.
Huge shout out to @buchananstudio3, who is the mastermind behind the creative efforts at the interpretive centre, and also a local ‘art force’ with his personal art works, ideas, events, and champion of all things ART in Revelstoke.
We will be working on the rust patina, then locking it in once it is perfect. There will eventually be natural stone landscaping around the cones, and natural vegetation planted.
